AI in the Van Mieu exhibition?
Using AI (virtual reality technology), the exhibition “Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam with the Tradition of Scholarly Education in Bac Ninh Province” brings new and exciting experiences to viewers while showcasing traditional displays.

On November 13, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature-Imperial Academy, in collaboration with the Center for Conservation of Historical Sites and Promotion of Tourism in Bac Ninh, organized an exhibition titled “Temple of Literature-Imperial Academy and the Tradition of Scholarly Education in Bac Ninh Province.”
The exhibition consists of two main parts: an introduction to the special value of the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam relic and the scholarly tradition of Bac Ninh province. The first part contributes to conveying the message that Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam is a gathering place for the essence of Vietnamese education, with significant contributions from cultural figures such as the kings and the headmaster of Quoc Tu Giam, Chu Van An…
The second part includes exhibitions about the Temple of Literature-Quoc Tu Giam, Confucian temples, Confucian schools, and Confucian halls in Bac Ninh; notable scholars; and the scholarly families of the province… convey the message that this place is the center of Kinh Bac with its long-standing culture, a land of talented individuals, known for its tradition of valuing education and scholarly achievements.
Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tú, Deputy Director of the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center, stated that Bac Ninh, Kinh Bac is renowned as a land of studiousness, with a long-standing tradition of scholars, nearly 700 distinguished scholars, many scholarly villages, and scholarly clans. The Van Mieu of Bac Ninh Province is one of the earliest Van Mieu built, serving as a place to preserve and promote the region’s scholarly education tradition, a heritage symbolizing the wisdom of the ancestors.
The Organizing Committee has selected from thousands of scientific documents and photographs to recreate the formation and development process of the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam. The exhibition offers fresh and engaging experiences for visitors by combining traditional display methods harmoniously with virtual reality and artificial intelligence technology solutions.
Culture enthusiasts also have the opportunity to experience the art of printing patterns, which are typical motifs found on the 82 Doctoral Stone Tablets preserved at the Special National Monument of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi).
The exhibition is an activity aimed at promoting a particularly significant historical and architectural national monument of the capital and the country, the connection between the Temple of Literature-Quoc Tu Giam and the Temple of Literature in Bac Ninh, and the province’s tradition of scholarly education.
The exhibition helps visitors, residents of Bac Ninh province, and the entire country understand more about the role and value of their ancestors’ precious heritage, contributing to the preservation of the nation’s cultural and educational traditions, and encouraging the spirit of learning among the people, especially the younger generation, with the motto of bringing heritage closer to the community.
The event will take place until December 31st at the Van Mieu Bac Ninh./.
