At the latest AI beauty lab of AmorePacific, the “giant” of Korean cosmetics, customers can experience a unique service: a robot mixing foundation on demand and advanced technology suggesting the most suitable lipstick color.
With AmorePacific, the company uses AI to recommend 205 types of foundation or 366 different lipstick colors, making it easy for customers to choose the most suitable products.
The trend of applying AI in the cosmetics industry is becoming increasingly popular. Global brands like L’Oréal S.A. and Sephora, part of LVMH, are also leveraging AI to develop products that meet customer personalization needs.
According to Statista Market Insights, global sales in the cosmetics industry reached 625.6 billion USD in 2023. This number has been steadily increasing every year since the decline in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Analysts believe that using AI instead of human consultants can accelerate product development and minimize errors.
