Open Artificial intelligence is reportedly planning to release artificial intelligence agents that can perform tasks on computer systems.
According to a report, the company has been conducting several research projects related to agents, one of which is called “Operator” – capable of performing operations on computers.
These artificial intelligence agents are expected to be released in January 2025, initially in the form of a trial.
This company plans to allow software and applications to access its artificial intelligence agents for users to utilize.
Artificial intelligence agents have recently become a trend in the artificial intelligence ecosystem. These are smaller AI models compared to large language models, but they are specialized and can use specific software to perform actions such as mimicking keystrokes, clicking buttons…
Due to the specialized nature of the models, they can complete user-requested tasks accurately and quickly.
According to a Bloomberg report, a new artificial intelligence agent named Operator will perform tasks on computers on our behalf, allowing users to command the Artificial intelligence agent to carry out complex tasks such as coding or booking tickets online.
The report further reveals that Open Artificial intelligence’s executive board is said to have disclosed plans to release this tool in January 2025 in the form of a beta version.
Additionally, Open Artificial intelligence may also be undertaking several other research projects related to this agent, which are currently nearing completion and have the capability to perform tasks on web browsers (in addition to application development).
Currently, detailed information about the projects is still unknown.
The CEO of Open Artificial intelligence, Sam Altman, has mentioned that artificial intelligence agents are the focus of the company: “We will have increasingly better Artificial intelligence models, but I think the next big breakthrough will be artificial intelligenceagents.”
Anthropic, Open Artificial intelligence’s competitor, also released experimental artificial intelligence agents last month, called Computer Use. It can understand and interact with computers, control and complete tasks as requested by users.
