National online conference to celebrate National Digital Transformation Day 2024

On the morning of October 12, the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the Government Office, organized a nationwide online conference to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day 2024. Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, chaired the conference.
The meeting was connected online from the Government headquarters to the venues at the headquarters of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-affiliated agencies, and People’s Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities.

Attending were comrades: Nguyễn Hòa Bình, Member of the Politburo, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation; Lê Thành Long, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Deputy Prime Minister; representatives from ministries, central agencies; representatives from several enterprises, universities, and community digital technology teams from localities.The conference is connected to 63 points at the headquarters of the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.
Attending the conference at the Ninh Bình venue were Comrade Phạm Quang Ngọc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee; members of the Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee; leaders of several provincial departments and sectors; leaders of districts and cities; members of the Task Force assisting the Provincial Digital Transformation Steering Committee, and representatives of several enterprises and exemplary community digital technology groups in the province.
In his opening speech at the conference, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, affirmed: The government’s message is a determination to pursue the digital transformation revolution in a comprehensive, thorough, and effective manner, aiming to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
The trend of digital transformation
The Prime Minister emphasized: Digital transformation is an inevitable trend, an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority for rapid and sustainable development; it is the cause of the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, contributing to the realization of the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous nation, with a people who are well-off, happy, and no one left behind; so that Vietnam can catch up, advance together, and rise in the era of the nation’s emergence.
According to the Prime Minister, Decision No. 505/QĐ-TTg, dated April 22, 2022, the Prime Minister has designated October 10 of each year as National Digital Transformation Day to accelerate the implementation of national digital transformation tasks, effectively carry out the National Digital Transformation Program by 2025, with a vision towards 2030; raise public and societal awareness of the role, significance, and benefits of digital transformation; promote the involvement of the entire political system, coordinated actions at all levels, and the participation of the entire population to ensure the success of digital transformation.
In 2024, the national digital transformation has the theme “Developing the digital economy with 4 pillars: information technology industry, digitizing economic sectors, digital governance, digital data – An important driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.”
At the conference, the delegates focused on evaluating the results achieved in national digital transformation for 2024, especially in the digital economy; proposing strategic directions, viewpoints, and key tasks and solutions for digital transformation and digital economy development in the coming period; government leaders, ministry heads, and union leaders engaged in dialogues and discussions with businesses and exemplary members of the community digital technology team…
Closing of the conference
Closing the conference, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính stated: The program to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day 2024 will be connected online to 63 localities. This is the third consecutive year we are organizing this important event, demonstrating the determination of the Party, the State, the political system, the business community, and the people across the country to jointly transform the national digital landscape, develop the digital economy, digital society, and digital citizens.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that this is the cause of the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, contributing to the realization of the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous nation, where the people are warm, happy, and no one is left behind, with the spirit of “nothing is difficult, only fear of an unstable heart, digging mountains and filling seas, determination will surely succeed,” as taught by President Ho Chi Minh.
On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister acknowledged, praised, and highly appreciated the efforts, determination, and results achieved by ministries, sectors, localities, the business community, and the people, especially the very effective activities of community digital technology teams in the localities, which inspire and motivate to do better, contributing significantly to the national digital transformation.
Digital transformation implementation target plan
The Prime Minister also emphasized that to effectively implement national digital transformation, we must have high determination, great effort, decisive, effective, and synchronized actions, focusing on key areas, and completing one task at a time.
In the coming time, to achieve successful digital transformation, we need to have focused and appropriate strategies to implement them rapidly, effectively, and with a more comprehensive breakthrough. People who drive digital transformation need to have a passionate heart, an intelligent and creative mind, and a mindset that is always innovative. National digital transformation must place people and businesses at the center, as the subjects, driving force, resources, and goals of development. “Must speak honestly, act genuinely, and achieve real results so that the people and businesses can truly benefit,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Regarding the main tasks and solutions in the coming period, the Prime Minister pointed out that digital transformation needs to be more vigorous, more decisive, faster, and more breakthrough, ensuring substance and effectiveness, promoting the development of the digital economy, green transformation, and emission reduction linked to the development of science and technology and innovation.Promote 3 strategic digital breakthroughs: Breakthrough in digital institutions; breakthrough in digital infrastructure; breakthrough in digital human resources with the motto “transparent institutions, seamless infrastructure, intelligent human resources.”Implement synchronized solutions to accelerate the process of industrialization and modernization of the country, developing a new, high-quality, and professional workforce.Strive to bring all public services onto the digital platforms of the Government, ministries, sectors, and localities to facilitate, reduce compliance costs, travel costs, and decrease corruption, negativity, inconvenience, and harassment for people and businesses…
With the efforts, determination, and proactive, creative spirit of the entire political system, the business community, and the people over the past time, as well as the outstanding activities at the event “Celebrating the National Digital Transformation Day 2024,” the Prime Minister believes that the national digital transformation will progress rapidly, sustainably, comprehensively, inclusively, substantively, and effectively, significantly contributing to the promotion of socio-economic development, creating a prosperous and happy life for the people, and building a strong and prosperous nation in the new era, the era of the country’s rise.
