Technology festival changing the future in Daeguadvanced mobile technology and industry, robots, ABB will soon be introduced at the FIX 2024 event, which is expected to be the largest technology event in South Korea, serving as an ‘integrated platform for innovative technology.’

During the ‘Future Innovation Technology Exhibition 2024 (FIX 2024)’ organized by the Daegu Metropolitan City, South Korea, from October 23-26, attendees can explore advanced technologies that will shape the future.

‘FIX 2024’, expected to be the largest technology event in South Korea, will serve as an ‘integrated platform for innovative technology’, showcasing advanced technologies and industries in mobile, robotics, and ABB (AI, Big Data, Blockchain). This event will feature the participation of 463 companies and 2,071 booths showcasing various advanced technologies and products.

With the slogan “Better Technology, Better Future,” global companies such as Tesla, Hyundai Mobis, ABB Korea, SK, and KT will showcase their technology. Top experts from fields such as AI and robotics, including Nvidia and RoMeLa (Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory) at UCLA, will participate in international conferences, providing an overview of global trends.

The Daegu Policy Institute forecasts that FIX 2024 will create an economic spillover effect with 933.2 billion KRW in production, 262.6 billion KRW in value-added, and an additional 3,263 jobs, supported by enhanced business programs such as export consulting and buyer meetings.

 1. Technology exhibition

At the East side of EXCO, the mobile hall will feature key participants such as Tesla, Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Mobis, Samsung SDI, GM, and Autonomous a2z – Daegu’s leading self-driving car company. Participants can admire concept cars, electric vehicles, and hydrogen cars, as well as key components like engines and batteries, showcasing the latest trends in the mobility industry.

The main highlights will be Tesla’s Cybertruck, Hyundai’s SPACE Mobility concept vehicle, and Hyundai Mobis’s MOBION, which were unveiled at CES 2024.

Additionally, the UAM Special Experience Center, co-hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan City, SK Telecom (SKT), the Korea Airport Corporation, and Hanwha Systems, will allow participants to experience a full-scale UAM aircraft simulation from SKT.c

The robotics and ABB industries will be showcased in the Western area with the newly introduced Startup Arena.

Leading robot manufacturing companies such as HD Hyundai Robotics, ABB Korea, Fraunhofer IML, and Bear Robotics will participate. RoMeLa’s latest bipedal robot, ARTEMIS, will make its debut in South Korea.

In the field of ABB, SK, KT, AWS, LVIS, and ESTsoft will introduce advanced technologies, and attendees can experience XR-based content such as The Sandbox Korea’s Apple Vision Pro metaverse content and SKONEC Entertainment’s XR game content.

On October 24 and 25, Start-up Arena will host the Plug and Play Korea Expo, making its debut this year. This is the first event of the world’s largest startup accelerator, Plug and Play. Global Innovator Festa (GIF) and other startup events will take place simultaneously.

Plug and Play Korea Expo will feature startup IR pitches, lectures from global speakers, and panel discussions.

25 startups from around the world will participate, including MaiT, a developer of AI medical diagnostic software, and VEStellaLab, a developer of smart parking navigation solutions. Notable speakers include: Jojo Flores, Co-founder of Plug and Play

2. Global conferences

Global conferences featuring major companies in the global technology industry will be held at EXCO and the Inter-Burgo EXCO hotel from October 23-25.

81 experts from 13 countries (the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, etc.), including 31 international speakers, will discuss mobile trends, ABB, robots, and emerging industries.

The keynote speakers in the mobile sector on the first day include SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motors, and Sangyong Lee, Head of the R&D Lab at LG Electronics VS (Vehicle Component Solutions). The next day, technicians from Nvidia, HERE Technologies, and Lotus will take the stage as speakers.

In the field of ABB, Jung-Woo Ha, Director of the NAVER Future AI Center, and Taekyoung Kwon, Professor at Yonsei University and Director of the AI Security Research Institute at the Korean Institute of Information Security and Cryptology, will give speeches; followed by speakers from Kakao and AWS. Cybersecurity sessions and the Gaia-X collaboration project will also take place here.

The robotics conference, held at the Inter-Burgo EXCO Hotel, will feature speeches by Professor Dennis Hong from UCLA, a developer of bipedal humanoid robots, and Soonmin Bae, Director of AI2XL Research at KT. Experts from the Pittsburgh Robotics Network and the University of Toronto will also be present, along with global robot clusters from six countries, including France and Spain.

3. Business program

The job fair, featuring 20 companies such as Samsung SDI, GM, and Valeo Mobility Korea, will be held alongside a procurement consultation event with representatives from 70 major companies, public organizations, and private investors. An investment briefing meeting will also be held to introduce Daegu’s investment ecosystem.

4. Many exciting activities for tourists

Visitors to FIX 2024 can participate in various experiences such as test-driving electric cars, enjoying cultural performances like the Daegu International Opera Festival, Kansong Art Museum Daegu, and Daegu Art Museum, as well as tourism-linked programs.

The test drive vehicles include the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Hyundai Casper, Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, BMW (model TBA), Peugeot e-2008, and Jeep Avenger. DotStation, Wacco Motors, and AU TECH will provide electric two-wheelers.

Daegu Mayor Joon-pyo Hong stated, “FIX 2024 will serve as an integrated platform for innovative technologies that will shape the future and promote a new collaborative ecosystem between large corporations and startups.” I hope this event will help Daegu lead the transformation of South Korea’s industrial structure and emerge as a globally recognized future-leading city.Context: /.
